What is your name and what city do you rep? I am a NisaF (NisaFbaby) from New Jersey; raised in Linden/Rahway, NJ
What is unique about you and your music? I would say that what' unique about me is that I don't sound like any other artist out right now, and what's unique about my music is that it doesn't sound like any other song out right now.
What shaped your music? My music is a representation of me and I am hard, stress free, get money but sexy. My life, my struggles, seeing the struggles on my mother growing up has help mold my music and also mold me as a person.
When did you realize you were going to make music professionally? Over the years and really taking my craft seriously around 2017 I knew I had a story to tell and that I could pursue music professionally.
What type of music do you listen to? I listen to artist such as Missy Misdemeanor Elliott, EVE, Lil Kim, and Queen Latifah ( Jersey native). I would listen to how Missy structured a song and then prefect mine. I would listen to all EVE or Queen Latifah's music and then go harder in the studio. My ideals became my mentors and I have never met them in person.
Who, to you, is the most undervalued music artist? To me, a undervalued artist out right now is myself; in my perspective. Not to be cocky but I'm confident and know I just need one shot to show the world that the music industry needs me. I just need a chance to prove myself.
How do you prepare for your performances? For a performance, I just study myself. I would listen to my own music in my jeep, at work, and in the house a million times and visualize myself in front of people. I would study how I stood, my tone of voice, how I hold the mic; everything.
What ignites your (song) writing flow? Some things the ignite my writing is my life, hearing a beat that reminds me of old times or someone, having the ability to express myself on a track when I can't talk to people.
What do you do when you don't do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about? When I'm not doing music I am working, selling my merchandise and with my family. I believe you have to have more than one hustle; so right now I work on things that allow me to keep pursuing my music career.
Success to you is... To me, success is stability in everything in life. stable finances, personal life, family life, career, and being naturally happy. I'm successful when I can tell my mom she never has to work again.
What do you wish you were told when you first started rapping that you think would help anyone recently starting artists out? Something I wish I was told when I first started rapping that I think would help someone recently starting out as an artist is; even if no one else believes in you, you believe in you and never wait to pursue your dreams.
Any upcoming projects? Yes, my EP "Finding Myself" is dropping August 2019 so please look out for it and I have another video dropping the end of this month that's fire and the people will love.
